PD2 cuts out all the crap and has you THERE right as the heist starts. GTAV is about big open worlds so it involves the standard sandbox downsides of having things spread out thin across a big area full of nothing or fake buildings and those sets have to be used for multiple things and the nature of it also means a lot of busywork driving to and from and setting up things before you get in the action. PD2's, for any faults and complaints aired here, is far better, as you'd expect of a FPS game. Gunplay in GTAV is crude and simplistic arcade affair designed for a joypad, not much different from previous entries. This is why GTA spends so much time outside, while PD2 has a lot of the game indoors. In turn the indoor parts of GTAV were frankly always crude feeling in the singleplayer or multiplayer, just as they were in earlier entries. ![]() PD2, simplified, is about FPS action and stealth. In large part due to GTAV being designed around third person and console first and foremost and car/vehicle driving was always GTA's focus, which is why GTAV's heists tend to feature the vehicle chases and escapes or simply getting from point A to point B in them so much. I've played both and they're completely different in feel and execution.
